The 1st National Atfal Football Tournament 2007

The first ever National Atfal Football Tournament was held on 8th September 2007 at London Playing Fields, opposite Baitul Futuh.

A total of 6 regions participated and over 85 Atfal were in attendance. The competition was split in to two age groups, namely 7-11 and 12-15.

The winners for the 7-11 group were Muqami and Baitul Futuh won in the 12-15 competition. The Atfal were advised on the outset that they’re behaviour on the pitch was just as important as on it, and that whilst they should aspire to play like the professionals they should always behave much better than the crop of modern day footballers. The standard of the football was quite encouraging and there were some hard fought matches.
