Age Groups
- Your age group for the National Ijtema is determined by what age you will be on the day of the National Ijtema i.e. 19th September 2025.
- For example, if you are 9 years old on 1st of November 2024, then you would have prepared for the Dianat age group for your local & regional ijtema. However, if you turn 10 before the National Ijtema, then you should prepare for the Sadaqat (10 to 12 years old) age group for the National Ijtema.
- Use our “Age Group Checker” at atfal.org.uk/ijtema to find out which age group to prepare for.

Open & Closed Competitions
Closed Competitions
The following competitions will be restricted at the National Ijtema to those Atfal who came 1st, 2nd or 3rd at their regional Ijtema’at:
- Tilawat
- Nazm
- Prepared English Speech
If you did not achieve a position at Regional Ijtem but would still like to take part in the above competitions, you can submit a voice recording using this form before the 12th of September.

Qualification List for Closed Competitions
- Click on on the relevant age group to access the list of Atfal who have qualified for Closed Competitions.
- This list will be updated every few days leading up to Ijtema.
- If you achieved 1st, 2nd or 3rd at your Regional Ijtema and you cannot find your name, then please contact your Regional Nazim Atfal and let them know so your name can be included.
- If you have achieved a position at your regional ijtema but have now moved up an age group, then you will qualify for the older age group.
Closed Competitions Email Submissions
Didn’t qualify for the closed competitions at the national Ijtema? Don’t worry, you may still be able to take part.
There will be a process to qualify more Atfal for closed competitions for each age group depending on space availability. To be considered, make sure you do the following:
1. Prepare according to the syllabus
2. Record yourself (audio only)
a. If you are trying for multiple competitions, then please have multiple recordings.
3. Make sure the recording is no longer than two minutes
4. Complete this form: www.atfal.org.uk/ijtema/qualify by 12th September latest
5. Check this page for updates to see if you have qualified.

Hifz Competitions
This year, the Hifz competitions will be held separately at National Ijtema. There are four Hifz Competitions:
- Hifz-e-Quran
- Hifz-e-Ad’iyah
- Hifz-e-Qasidah
- Hifz-e-Ahadith (Sadaqat & Dianat only)
For syllabus, rules and regulations, please consult the Talim syllabus files above appropriate to your age group.
1st, 2nd and 3rd positions will be awarded according to overall score. However, any participant who is able to successfully memorize the syllabus for one category, will receive a prize at National Ijtema. For further information please contact us at: [email protected]
Presentation Competition
This year, Presentation Competition is back again. This is a brilliant opportunity for you to showcase your presentation skills and public speaking skills.You MUST register for this competition prior to the Ijtema.
To register, please work on your presentation and submit it to the following email address prior to the Ijtema with your name, region and age group: [email protected]
The deadline for submission is 14th of September 2025.

Team Quiz Competition
- This is an open team competition which will only be held at National Ijtema.
- The quiz competition will be held separately for each age group.
- Each team will consist of 3-4 Atfal from one age group. Teams should be submitted beforehand through your Regional Nazim Atfal by 14th of September.
- There will be multiple rounds, based on Salat, Ahadith, Relgious Knowledge and General Knowledge. Click on the button below to access the syllabus.
- Each team will answer the same question simultaneously.
- Pens and paper will be provided.
- The quiz master’s decision will be final.

Memory Test
- This competition will only be held at National Ijtema.
- This is an individual competition which will be held separately for each age group.
- Participants will be shown various items on a screen for a certain amount of time. They will then be provided with a pen and paper and must write down as many items as they can remember.
Extempore Speech
- This competition will only be held at National Ijtema which will be held separately for Sadaqat Group (10-12) and Shuja’at Group (13-15)
- Participants will pick out a random topic from a bowl of topics.
- Topics may be based on religion, current affairs or miscellaneous.
- Participants will be given 2 minutes for preparation followed by 1 minute to deliver the speech.
