What is the National Quiz Competion?

The National Quiz Competition is an exciting competition which will be held this year.

The primary goal of this quiz is to draw the attention of Atfal towards learning Salat, its translation as well as the 40 Ahadith in the syllabus.

There will be 3 stages of this competition:

  1. Local Heats (to be held at local ijtema’at)
  2. Regional Qualifiers
  3. National Quiz Competition Final

The teams that win the local heats will progress to the regional qualifiers. After this, the regions will submit their best team for the national final.

National Final: Date TBC

Local Nazimeen should ensure that Atfal are put into teams prior to the event and encouraged to prepare for the quiz in teams in order to make the quiz fair for all age groups

Quiz Format & Rules:

  • There are two age groups for this competition:
      1. 7-11 age group
      2. 12-15 age group
  • Each team will consist of 3 Atfal from the same age group.
  • There will be a total of 4 rounds:
    • Round 1: Salat
      • 7-11: Full Arabic & translation up to and including Ruku
      • 12-15: Full Arabic and full translation
    • Round 2: 40 Ahadith (as listed in syllabus)
      • 7-11: Hadith No. 1-20
      • 12-15: Hadith No. 1-40
    • Round 3: Religious Knowledge
      • Based on Waqfe Nau Syllabus for each age group
    • Round 4: General Knowledge

  • Each team will be provided with a pen, a paper for each round. The questions will be displayed, and each team will have to write the answer for each question down on the paper.

After each round, the papers will be collected and marked.

  • Each question will be allocated 30 seconds to 1 minute answer time.
  • The quiz master’s decision will be final.

Preparation for the Quiz:

  • The syllabus for the quiz is linked below.
  • For the Hadith Round, the participants must be able to recite the Arabic of the Hadith, recall the English translation and be able to tell the Arabic when given the translation.
  • Atfal do not need to memorise by number of the Hadith, this will not be tested.

Qualifying:

The winning team from the local Qaidat will get the chance to face off other Qiadats at regional level.

After this, each region will submit their best teams to take part in the National Final

Local Nazimeen should convey the names of the qualifying team from their Qiadat to their regional Nazim straight after the local round takes place.

If any Qaidat has a very small Tajneed and do not have enough Atfal in one of the age groups to run the quiz, they are free to show some flexibility and mix up the teams.
